Jesse Flores Appointed Constable of Denton County's Precinct #1

Lewisville Police Officer Jesse Flores has been selected by the Denton County Commissioners’ Court to serve as Constable for Precinct One. Officer Flores, who will be the first Hispanic constable to serve in Denton County, was appointed to hold the office until the next general election of Constable Jim Dotson, who passed away after having been re-elected last year.

One of several candidates seeking the constable post, Officer Flores was recommended to the Commissioners by the Denton County Republican precinct chairmen of Precinct One, who met on Monday, April 22, 2013 to interview all candidates. They voted to recommend Officer Flores and that recommendation was sent to the commissioners by Denton County Republican Party Chairman Dianne Edmondson.

Born and raised in Fort Worth, Officer Flores has been a resident of Denton County for 10 years.  A proud American with a Hispanic heritage, Officer Flores was an unsuccessful candidate for Denton County Sheriff last year in the Republican primary and states that he is looking forward to conducting his Constable campaign in the March, 2014 Republican primary. This office also will be on the 2016 ballot to put it into the same cycle as other constables.

Officer Flores has served as a police officer with the City of Lewisville Police Department since 1992. Assigned to the special operations unit as neighborhood resource officer / liaison for the past six years, his duties have included community policing, neighbor dispute resolutions, crime prevention inspections, crime watch meetings, and liaison officer for apartment properties and businesses.

Officer Flores also has a stellar record of community involvement. He established the Boy Scouts of America Explorer Post 2184 Lewisville Police Department Explorer Program; developed the Campus Crew program for Lewisville High School, an honorary extracurricular student-led activity promoting the prevention of crime and violence in the school; and established several crime watch groups in his district.

“We are confident Mr. Flores will execute the duties of the office faithfully and serve the citizens of Precinct One with excellence as well as bring innovative ideas to the office,” stated County Judge Mary Horn.
